After Selling on Amazon and Flipkart, now learned how to make profit from online business

Here is the Story of Jagdish Parshad from Delhi, He was experienced online seller but started facing problems in his online business, read how ECU’s eCommerce Entrepreneur Certification helped him to come out of that problem and complete his dreams.  Below is her story.

 

I am Jagdish Parshad, an online businessman from Delhi. I was selling my products online from last 4 years. I started my online business from Flipkart in 2014, it took me around 15 days to complete all formalities like Document submission, KYC done etc and after that I was able to start selling products. I listed my products on flipkart, I started with Mobile Accessories and then I added some handmade item like puppets, terracotta items etc. It took me 1 week to set up all items on flipkart, I was excited that I am finally selling online but I got disappointed when I didn’t received any order even after 10 days. I called to Flipkart and asked them reason, they said it take some time to get products up into search and if I want to make this faster I do some seo of my product links. I found someone who is expert in seo and asked him to do seo for my flipkart products, I paid him Rs 10,000 for that and he did his job well and suggested me that I myself should make some sales of my products so that they get listed as good products so I asked my wife and both sons to create account on Flipkart and order different different products of mine. Yes I had to take lose in terms of fees but the idea worked and I started receiving orders. It was so good, that I understand doing online business is much much better than offline business.

After 6 month when I understand this online business that how to set pricing, you need to add Product Cost + Profit Margin + Commission Fees + Fixed Fees + Shipping Fees, this total should be your Price for product which customer is going to pay. Also you have to wait at least for 7-10 for Flipkart to send money to your account, yes it’s little painful that your product has gone from you and money is not in your hand yet, but that’s ok if you thinking of doing online business you have to bear this pain. Flipkart was going good, I thought for expanding my business so I planned to start selling on Amazon as well. Similar to Flipkart it took me again 10 days to get documents processed and KYC done to start selling on Amazon. I added same products on Amazon as well, which I was having on Flipkart. This time it took me 2-3 days to do all setup and then  I waited for 1 week and no order. I again hired the same seo guy to do seo for my Amazon products and asked my family to purchase products from different Amazon account, and idea worked again, yes of course I again had to take lose of commision fees etc but that’s ok for me. As long as after that I started receiving orders.

 

Everything was going great I was earning quite good money, as I was living in Govindpuri, so I bought a new house in Rohini Extension, I took loan from SBI bank and shifted in new home with my family, also I have financed Audi A3 car for us, we were very happy. My sales were going great and I was having good profit as well. I want to expand my business to abroad but Amazon and Flipkart both having restrictions so I can’t do Abroad as I wanted to earn Dollars along with Rupees that was my dream, but I made myself understand that every dream can’t be fulfill. I was happy with my business, suddenly I noticed that my sales were improving but my profit was dropping, I was not able to understand why is that happening. And this was happening on both Amazon and Flipkart.

 

I called them to know what is the problem and then I came to know they have changed their policies, before the return items were managed by them now seller has to manage those which means if I am selling 10 items and getting 4 returned I am losing money instead of making. Also discount rule is changed as well, before they were giving discount from their side, now they want seller to contribute in discount, which means if my product is listed under 20% discount then I have to give 10% discount from my profit, for that I have to increase pricing and increasing of price going to drop my sale. I trapped into weird situation, one side my income and profit is dropping on the other hand I have to pay installment of my Home and new Car. The situation was getting worse and I have to sold my new Car, so that I could reduce expenditures and I have to put my old home on rent for some extra income.

 

I was feeling that I am doing something wrong with online business as I have understood that online business is great way to earn money. So I started finding solutions and articles on google for tips on online business or how to make more sales online etc. I got some informations but not much use full. I saw Ad on Facebook of some eCommerce Certification, I clicked the link and landed on ecuni.org, I found this interesting and was hoping that this course could solve my problem. I enrolled into the course but this was scholarship based, so I have to wait if my profile get selected for Scholarship or not. I remember those 14 hours until I haven’t received the Scholarship Winning email, I was keeping praying to Mata Rani that I would get this scholarship.

 

As I received the Scholarship email, I started studying, first 2 chapters were something that I was already expert in, The chapter What to Sell Online, explored too many options for me which I never thought of could be sold online. After this chapter I got more interested into the course, the chapter Choose Best technology/marketplace changed my total concept of online business, I always thought the online business means selling products online paying commission fees for that etc, but here I came to know that you can create your own complete shop online and if you choose platform smartly you don’t even need to give commission fees, which means you can offer better pricing to your customer along with your profit. I completed the course within 3 days and then it asked me to complete the practical. As I was doing practical I felt that it was building my own online store for free, I never thought that online business can be set up for free and within 1 day without any documents or KYC etc. It was awesome experience and learning.

 

Let me share with you how I set up my online business after this course. I created a free store on Hipkart, as they never asked for money to create your own store and also they list your products on their marketplace as well, which means you are getting Combo in free. I am running 3 stores on Hipkart, 1 is focused to India and 2 are focused to USA only. This is fulfilling my dreams of earning in dollars. The secret facts I must tell you guys that for USA I even not have to keep products or do shipping, there is service called KartSupply, you can login with your hipkart account or can  create new account into that and create 1 account in AliExpress, Install KartSupply chrome extension and then you can Find and Add Product from AliExpress to your KartSupply account just by 1 click and then set your Margin and Pricing and Push Product into your Hipkart Store by 1 click. When you receive Order in your store, Login to KartSupply and go to orders page and click Order fulfill button, Extension will automatically placing order to AliExpress account and wait for you at Payment Page, make payment on AliExpress and your order will be shipped to your customer automatically. All this feeling like a Magic but it all true as I am running my 2 stores using this. It’s so easy and one more great thing of Hipkart is they are not taking any commission fees and customers are paying directly to you not Hipkart.

This is my personal advice to you guys to must enroll into this course and start your online business as this course is so much helpful that it explore every aspects of online business and will make you expert in online business, you can earn good money and fulfill all your dreams like me earning in Dollars and now I have bought new Audi Q3 without finance and Planning a Switzerland Trip for my family 🙂 I am very happy now.
